NRL SuperCoach Round 17 players to watch, match centres, weather and tips

NRL SuperCoach players have some tough sit-start decisions to make with near on full availability in Round 17. Here are the ones to watch.

Thursday, June 25

Parramatta Eels vs South Sydney Rabbitohs at CommBank Stadium, 7.50pm AEST

Match Centre

Parramatta weather - game time: Showers. 25-50% chance rain.

Player of interest: The final teams for this contest can't come quickly enough for Tallis Duncan owners and recent buyers. He's been named for a third centre start and just needs to run on to the field in the position to earn dual 2RF/CTW status. No matter where he plays for the Rabbits, Duncan is a beast with consistent base + power output and has a mega ceiling. With flexibility and no more byes, he’s a great buy who will be POD in either position on the run home.

Friday, June 26

Gold Coast Titans vs Canterbury Bulldogs at Cbus Super Stadium, 6pm AEST

Match Centre

Gold Coast weather - game time: Showers. 25-50% chance of rain.

Player of interest: All eyes will be on Oliver Pascoe to see if he returns to his big-minute role. Titans coach Josh Hannay indicated it was a game-specific 29-minute game last week and with his breakeven of 82, there's time to watch and see what happens. Projected 63.

Brisbane Broncos vs Sydney Roosters at Suncorp Stadium, 8pm AEST

Match Centre

Brisbane weather - game time: Shower or two. 10-25% chance rain.

Player of interest: The most popular trade in of the week is Mark Nawaqanitawase, who is on the charge with back to back 100+ scores. With a breakeven of 6 and a juicy matchup on the cards, those waiting to see if he plays Origin 3 might be paying a $100k premium if he can continue his try scoring feats.

Saturday, June 27

Dolphins vs New Zealand Warriors at Suncorp Stadium, 3pm AEST

Match Centre

Brisbane weather - game time: Shower or two. 25-50% chance rain.

Player of interest: The interest will be in seeing how the Warriors middle transition operates without Jackson Ford playing the big minutes. Erin Clark owners are hoping he picks up the slack, but after showing the restraint to hold him to this point, they could be rewarded - although many others are cheering for Mitch Barnett ($492k) to get the nod so they have a cut-price former premium player the trade down to post Origin. Barnett has a projection of 68 in 60 minutes this week.

North Queensland Cowboys v Penrith Panthers at Queensland Country Bank Stadium, 5.30pm AEST

Match Centre

Townsville weather - game time: Possible shower. 0-10% chance rain.

Player of interest: Braidon Burns is not an option this week but is rated a top 10 prospect for the run home according to the Ballr projections. While they still have two byes to come, they have a great draw around that, and he could be a sneaky POD as a result.

Manly Sea Eagles vs Melbourne Storm at 4 Pines Park, 7.35pm AEST

Match Centre

Sydney weather - game time: Showers. 50-75% chance rain

Player of interest: Did Tom Trbojevic pass the eye test last week? A wet night at home against the Storm will be the ultimate test on his hammies and against good opposition to make sure he' still got it, as he presses his claim to get back in the NSW team. But if he gets through this one unscathed an misses selection he will most likely be the most purchased player next wek.

Sunday, June 28

Canberra Raiders v St George-Illawarra Dragons at GIO Stadium, 2pm AEST

Match Centre

Canberra weather - game time: Cloudy. 0-10% chance rain.

Player of interest: Savvy SuperCoaches are moving on Hudson Young this week to beat the crowd for the run home. The Raiders 2RF looked destined for another middling score last week until receiving a try assist on updates and he looks likely to produce something special every time he touches the ball, even with the fortunes of the Raiders at the moment. Young has an insane base + power of 72 and a Ballr projection of 88.

Newcastle Knights vs Wests Tigers at McDonald Jones Stadium, 4.05pm AEST

Match Centre

Newcastle weather - game time: Showers. 25-50% chance rain.

Player of interest: The 'ticking time bomb' that is his shoulder will be a concern rest of season, but for Adam Doueihi it could be worth the risk. The Tigers half started the season on fire with an 87.5 average in 8 games, but the team has lost quite a few troops and are far from flying. You can afford to watch with an 114 breakeven, but if he picks up where he left off, he could be a POD HFB2 or top run home Flex option.

Make your last-minute sit-start or captaincy decisions painless with the Rankings tool, which uses Ballr NRL SuperCoach Projections to rank the best players by position and tell you the chances of your player going big.
