Head-to-Head Finals Tactics
For sudden-death games (ranks 5–8), the pair agree it's all-or-nothing: use every trade available to stay alive, even if it hurts you next week.
Once you've hit the front, match your opponent's captain and high-upside players so they can't claw back points — and hold trades until the last possible minute to avoid tipping your hand.
If you're behind, do the opposite: differentiate with players and captains your opponent doesn't own, and lean into risky, high-ceiling picks rather than the "safe" choice.
Players to Watch
Haumole Olakau'atu is the clear No.1 second-rower right now, sporting a 67.3 base-plus-power season average, and still a great trade in despite his price.
Tallis Duncan ($730K, 44% owned in the top 10%) is a strong alternative against Parramatta, while Kulikefu Finefeuiaki (69.8 five-round average) is the value downgrade option for those still holding Dylan Lucas.
Sualauvi Fa'alogo shapes as a great POD vice captain play in Perth against Manly, although there is a threat of rain in that fixture.
Sam Walker has officially leapfrogged Jayden Campbell as the SuperCoach community's third halfback behind Nathan Cleary and Nicho Hynes, with his goal-kicking now boosting his floor. For VC, Nathan Cleary remains the standout despite a game on Friday night in Auckland, while Herbie Farnworth and James Tedesco are the go-to options for those without the halfback loophole option.
Sit/Start Calls
Heilum Luki is a clear start against a leaky Titans edge, while Te Maire Martin looks a genuine sit against Penrith's buttoned-up defence.
Simi Sasagi (back from hamstring) and David Fifita both get the green light against Parramatta, and Tom Jenkins remains an easy start as he chases NRL history for most tries in a season.
