Ballr NRL SuperCoach Team List Tuesday podcast analysis NRL Round 25

Just the three rounds to go in the 2026 NRL SuperCoach season and the Ballr crew of Jono, Matt and CMac have you covered to discuss how to replace Reece Walsh and use any other trades you're lucky enough to have in hand.

With the head-to-head prelims kicking off and overall proving a survival of the fittest, Round 25 is a pivotal week for every NRL SuperCoach.

On this week's Team List Tuesday episode of the Ballr NRL SuperCoach Podcast, host Jono - who is once again entrenched in the top 100 - was joined by Matt to break down Round 25 trades, sit/start dilemmas and captaincy options for the run home.

The Reece Walsh Blueprint

The headline story is Reece Walsh's season-ending injury, with the Broncos fullback 43% owned heading into Round 25. It leaves a huge chunk of the player base needing a plan.

Jono and Matt leaned toward fullback or halfback replacements over CTW punts, citing floor, upside and matchup strength.

James Tedesco was the most popular trade target, backed by a three-round average of 95.7, though his ankle injury clouds his Round 25 availability - complicated by the fact his game is the final match of the round.

Sam Walker ($858k, BE 160) drew praise as a "really, really amazing POD move" given a soft run home against the Tigers, Dolphins and Rabbitohs, while Scott Drinkwater and Jayden Campbell were floated as cheaper, higher-risk alternatives.

Team News and Sit/Start Watch

Key changes flagged for Round 25 include Adam Doueihi ruled out for the season with shoulder surgery, Francis Manuleleua sidelined by delayed concussion symptoms, and Latrell Mitchell named in the No.22 jersey - a shift that could push Tallis Duncan into the second row.

Both hosts backed Mark Nawaqanitawase as a must-start against the Tigers, highlighting his Ballr projection of 83.9 as the highest of any player discussed.

Jamayne Isaako, averaging 80.5 for the season, and David Fifita, coming off an 83-point NRL-best output, were also singled out as strong plays.

Captaincy Chat

For the armband, Jono and Rix backed Nathan Cleary as the top vice-captaincy option into Nicho Hynes as captain, while Herbie Farnworth and Jamayne Isaako were rated strong alternatives depending on kickoff timing across the round.

Make your last-minute sit-start or captaincy decisions painless with the Rankings tool, which uses Ballr NRL SuperCoach Projections to rank the best players by position and tell you what the data says about the chances of your player going big.
