Ballr Blueprint: how to use your last trades
This week's Ballr Blueprint tackled one of the biggest questions of finals season - how SuperCoach coaches should spend their remaining trades.
The panel's advice: head-to-head coaches should go all-in and max-trade for the best possible matchup this week, since Round 27 availability doesn't matter.
For overall-rank coaches, Jono and Matt leaned toward the "blended" approach - one trade now, one banked for Round 27 - while Dan confirmed he's using a trade to bring in Cowboys star Scott Drinkwater ahead of a favourable run against the Tigers and Raiders.
The trio also flagged the Cowboys' and Rabbitohs' soft draws as prime trade targets, along with sneaky pod options like Valentine Holmes and Jahrome Hughes.
Captaincy and VC options
Per Ballr projections, Alex Johnston and Nicho Hynes shared the round's highest projection at 89.7, with Johnston rated a 31% chance of cracking triple figures.
Sualauvi Fa'alogo carried an 87.5 projection into a plum Broncos clash, while Nathan Cleary sat on 83.4 against the Bulldogs.
Scott Drinkwater (87.0) emerged as the panel's favourite VC loop option against the Tigers, with Dan locking in VC Drinkwater and captain Hynes.
Tallis Duncan was also rated a sneaky POD VC option.
A degree of caution is needed for the 14% of coaches who own Wests Tigers forward Ethan Roberts, who has been named on the bench this week and could be an AE nightmare.
Sit/start watchlist
Payne Haas was hailed as the clear number-one must-play FRF after a nine-tackle-break performance last round.
David Fifita drew a strong wrap for South Sydney's favourable Titans matchup, and the panel weighed up hooker rotations between Blayke Brailey and Harry Grant given uncertainty over Grant's minutes.
Dragons workhorses Toby Couchman and Ryan Couchman were locked in as starts despite reduced minutes last start, and Sharks duo KL Iro and Ronaldo Mulitalo were tipped to bounce back against a leaky Eels edge.
