NRL SuperCoach Round 14 Review: Sunday Snap Key Takeaways | Ballr
SuperCoaches face a big points swing when Round 14 finally ends on Monday. The Ballr crew of Jono and Tubes get in early the discuss the fallout from the first seven matches.
It's a nervous wait in NRL SuperCoach this week in a case of haves versus have-nots, pending those who held or sold the mercurial Nathan Cleary.
Host Jono (Hungry Fermor) was one of the haves, captaining the Panthers halfback for 148 after updates and sitting on a healthy 1532, but Tubes (Tubes Pods) as a Cleary seller still managed a respectable 1454 prior to the final game of the round, in which neither have a stake.
From the Ballr community's rage trades and ready-to-explode picks, here's the big talking points coming out of Round 14 of the 2026 NRL season. The Ballr NRL SuperCoach Sunday Snap is live now on audio channels and will drop on YouTube at 5.30pm AEST Monday, June 8.
Nathan Cleary Captaincy Splits the Field
The biggest story of the round was Nathan Cleary's massive 148-point haul in the Panthers' 68–0 demolition of the Tigers.
With 89% ownership in the top 10% and 66% of those coaches captaining him, it created a serious points swing between squads — and those who didn't captain Cleary felt the hurt. Jono and Tubes agreed the score could have been even higher given Cleary's dominance in the first half.
Mark Nawaqanitawase: Round 15 Must-Buy?
Mark Nawaqanitawase erupted for 128 points- three tries and 50 in base plus power - and is set to be one of the most traded-in players ahead of Round 15.
With the Roosters losing key players to Origin, he could slot into centre, wing, or even fullback. As discussed on the pod, wherever 'Marky Mark' gets early ball, SuperCoach points follow. Jump on the Ballr Team Builder Tool to model the move before Tuesday's lockout lifts.
Key Rage Trades Analysed
- Ativalu Lisati (52 pts) is a fine trade with limited bye coverage. Him to David Fifita was floated as a cost-neutral upgrade option.
- James Tedesco has posted three sub-50 scores in a row, losing 125k. The hosts agreed it's now too late to sell at around 660k, but he remains a long-term run-home keeper.
- Greg Marzhew (37 pts, three errors) looks like a hold, with the Knights facing the Dragons and Tigers in Rounds 16–18 — the same matchup that sparked his 200-point game earlier this season.
Ready to Explode: Nikora, Olakau'atu & More
Briton Nikora and Haumole Olakau'atu continued their excellent form — Olakau'atu posting 96 points with an assist, remaining Tubes' favourite SuperCoach player to own and watch.
The big question is whether each back-up in Round 16 after State of Origin Game 2, with both having rested in the days after Game 1.
Brendan Piakura exploded for 110 with a try and assist, drawing serious POD discussion despite broader concerns about the Broncos' direction.
Origin Implications to Watch
The rumoured Origin squads dominated discussion.
Kulikefu Finefeuiaki and Reece Walsh were two players SuperCoaches were relying on for Round 15, but bye plans have been thrown into chaos with the pair named in the Queensland Maroons 19-man sqaud.
Keep track of the latest news and discuss how you will handle the bye by joining the conversation in the Ballrs Only Discord.
Round 15 Trade Targets
Jono flagged Te Maire Martin (halfback), Jackson Ford, and Xavier Willison as solid options, while Tubes is leaning into Mark Nawaqanitawase and David Fifita.
